Just to add. Sanheim has 6.25 x 6 years extension. No way the Leafs want that. But the Leafs really don't another centre or a LHD. If they are spend assets, spend on a position in need.

Yes, its a lot of money for Sanheim moving forward, plus PHI isnt retaining that amount moving forward. (Forget the retention and move Engvall for a bag of pucks and its closer).

Just to add, I thought Sanheim looked slow and not good in the Leaf/Flyer game last week. Yeah, it could be a one-off, but is that long term deal going to look good for the Flyers?

PS. I would have given you "a llke" but I like Engvall, and I don't mind his play or contract.....though he seems to be a whipping boy for CF contributors.

Canuckle fans need to hit the brakes. Horvat isn’t getting moved until closer to the TDL and he will cool off by then, and there is absolutely no way he is worth essentially three 1sts (Sandin, 2018 1st; Minten, 2022 1st; 2023 1st). Come on now, smh.

They don't even need Sandin who's a LHD and Vancouver is set there. Their ask would be Topi Niemela. And i seriously doubt that Kyle Dubas is paying Bo Horvat 8x8 to play 3C.

Just because Sandin was picked in the 1st round 4 and a half years ago doesn't mean his value still equals that. Not saying he's a bum, but I don't think there's a ton of teams that would pay a 1st straight up for Sandin right now.

Well - sort of proves my point. if Sandin is not worth a 1st right now, then no chance a rental Horvat is worth two 1sts +

apples and oranges. for the record, though, OP's offer is overkill for Horvat. Retention should cost a 3rd or 4th, Horvat should cost a single 1st and a prospect from a team's top 5-6. Anything beyond that is too favorable to the Canucks for a player that they're extremely unlikely to retain.
