Nothing indicates, as you said, that "healing is going slower than expected"

If after 3 weeks he has no feeling in his thumb than it means healing is going slower still progressing well but slow. Which is fine as nerve damage recovery can vary from person to person. He could be back by Febuary/March but based on the slowness I say he probs plays mayb last games in April/game 1 of SCP

As rn recovery time is 3-4 months but if progression is slow like this 5 months isnt out of the question. As even if he comes back he may not play the same case in point Mikheyev. After that injury he was not good but then a year and a half later he went back to his old self and has become a nice player. So no need to rush him back

Bettman should honestly stop wasting time with Arizona and instead work with teams to create workable wrist guards for hockey players. We have seen these injuries a few times already and these can potentially hinder/end careers

Hopefully they are starting or developing wrist guards as man thats an injury nobody should suffer.
