Can garland center? If not then why would Columbus trade a center for yet another wing who would probably be playing 3rd line if everyone was healthy.

No, but he’s a better 3c then playing Gaunce or Karuly at 3c with Granlund and Johnson or Chinakov as Voracek and Laine will be back before the season is over. The only thought is if Nyquist gets moved, but then they still have Marchenko in the AHL who honestly should be playing top 9 in Columbus vs top line in Cleveland.

Ya I totally get not being interested in garland. Just figured it could make some sense given roslovic being scratched tonight. I'd imagine CBJ hopes Sullinger and Johnson end up being full time C's. Historically Columbus has had difficulty retaining talent which is why I figured a guy with some term like garland might be of interest. Nyqvist will be gone after this season and presumably Voracek the next season so there could be some space in the top 9 for garland.

Doubtful that there’s room tbh. Johnson looks more like a wing. That leaves us with Gaudreau, Laine, Johnson, Chinakov, Marchenko, Foudy, Texier (if he ever comes back). Players like Bemstrom could also still be here as well as the potential for Dumais or Voronkov or Del Bel Belluz to make some strides in 2 years, or if they get another UFA just looking for a chance to play in the NHL who surprises everyone, like Duclair a few years ago. Centers are Sillinger, Jenner, Karuly and possibility of Johnson, Bedard(hopefully), DBB or a possible UFA. That’s without Voracek and Nyquist BTW.

Honestly, I'd be tempted. I don't think Roz is going to work out as a C long term at this rate, and I really like Garland.
