You completely misunderstood what I said. I said he is the 3rd best center available. Horvat will fetch a big package like this, Toews will fetch a big package...maybe not this big. There won't be more than 3 teams, you need at least a 4th to drive the price up rather than taking whats left, willing to trade packages like this for centers in 1 season and O'Rielly is the obvious odd man out. There is only a certain amount of demand for a single position out there among 16 teams.

I think you are likely right, I think Toews still has some gas left in the tank but it has to be for way less money and a reduced role. I bet he finishes the season and then signs a 1 year deal for 3 or less next year and shows well. If someone can swing a 3 way deal to get him for pretty cheap with another team eating another quarter then he could be moved at the deadline but I think there are a lot of players who will go before he does.
