These players may be available for trade realistically-- but your trade values going back aren't close to realistic.

Kerfoot + mid draft pick (3rd or 4th?) should be plenty for Domi. That's assuming you believe Domi makes them better-- I'll say harder to play against at least.

Bottom pairing D-man on expiring contract + Good prospect, doesn't come close to getting a sought after 24 yr old top 4 D-man on a good contract, with term remaining. A pick coming back just makes it amusing.

Add a 1st and Matt Knies and Arizona bites on the first trade. They're not going to do it for a single prospect & a pending UFA, and they're certainly not going to be the side of the trade adding any sort of picks.

Swapping Kerfoot for Domi feels like a downgrade for the Leafs - but I also don't think Chicago does this deal. Domi was a guy that was plainly signed to be a trade chip this year, and pending UFA Kerfoot would be the same for them - so I'd assume Chicago would rather have the guy with the lower AAV because that opens up their market of potential suitors.

LMAO easy decline by the Hawks. Kerfoot is a cap dump to the Hawks, Domi is playing lights out and worth at least a 2nd if not late 1st. If you want to dump Kerfoot, you are likely looking at a late 1st to acquire Domi.

No way. Kerfoot has zero value to the Hawks. Meanwhile, Domi has 7 points in 9 games, #1 in faceoffs in the league. If Domi keeps this up, he can easily fetch a 2nd and maybe a late 1st.

Domi getting a 1st rnd pick would be masterful negotiation if they could do it, even if he keeps this pace.... but more likely, the reality that Domi isn't that good will set in and he'll get a mid pick.

But irrelevant-- the only thing that matters, is that a Kerfoot for Domi trade will not happen without more assets involved, because Kerfoot really does not have value to CHI, and they're probably on his MNTC.

If he continues to play at a 60+ point pace and continues to perform at the dot as the one of the top faceoff guys, with 50% retention a first isn't masterful negotiations it's expected. There will be plenty of teams that want him based on how he's playing. If he falls off then all bets are off, but right now we can only go on how he's been playing. He's playing fast, playing 200 ft, physical, putting up points and #1 in the league at the dot. For a $1.5M cap hit (based on 50% retention) that's incredibly valuable to any team with a need for a middle 6 center.

adding retention makes it a completely different trade. a late 1st for a middle 6 winger w/ $1.5 retained is reasonable.

I still just don't see this trade happening for either side.

Yes it is, albeit he's a center smile
