That doesn't get your Murphy, not even close. Kerfoot is a cap dump to the Hawks and Abruzzese doesn't have a ton of value. Add a 2nd and a 3rd and maybe the Hawks consider

At a minimum 2nd and 3rd....problem is compensating for dumping Kerfoot may drive the price to (2) 2nds or even a late 1st. Murphy on his own is worth a late 1st. I'm trying to put more value in Abruzzese to the leafs benefit then I probably should by saying a 2nd and 3rd or (2) 2nds.

Isles already have Pulock-Dobson-Mayfield on RD, why would they be interested in adding Holl? And if Gaudette was of any value to them they would've claimed him 3 weeks ago for free.

I'd do 2nd and 3rd for 1 mill retained. 1st for 2 mill retained.

Weird, I was listening to an Islanders Hockey Reporter talking about how the team needs more D depth. Holl gives NYI that. You have no need for Schneider with Sorokin and Varlamov. He's a vet AHL goalie. Gaudette for him is more than enough. It's that or a 7th rd pick.

Hawks aren't going to use a retention spot on Murphy, not would they need to if they shopped him.

Not sure what reporter was saying that, but if the Isles need D depth anywhere it would be at the AHL level - they have Robin Salo & Grant Hutton ready to step up if someone gets injured, but not a ton of developing prospects behind that. But the top 6 at the NHL level is pretty much set: Pelech-Pulock, Romanov-Dobson, Aho-Mayfield as your three pairs. Holl is redundant on a team with Mayfield and doesn't make sense as a target for them - if anything I could see them trying to fortify LD because Aho is kinda meh and Salo is still waivers-eligible and stashable in the AHL.

I also don't know if Cory Schneider would be a guy Lou moves - obviously, he's a Lamoriello guy through and through and seems happy to be acting as a mentor to the young guys in Bridgeport. His family is mostly based in the tri-state area around NYC, so I can't see him really itching to move out. He feels like a guy who's made his money in the league and is more happy just doing what he wants now.
