Meh trade, Myrenberg’s not much of anything, Studnicka and Dipietro both have potential, needed a change of scenery and probably won’t amount to too much

Good deal. Studs just never panned out with all the chances. We get a goalie prospect who could be good as a backup next year and a young D-Man. Like the deal a lot

Covid-19 messed with DiPietro's development, which is a shame. I hope he does well on Boston.

I think it is a fair deal, as the Canucks are dealing with a ton of injuries right now and need someone who can play in the NHL right now.

Pretty fair trade, DiPietro and Studnicka were both low on the depth charts and in need of a change of scenery. Wonder why the B's needed another goalie though...

Studnicka isn't going to be a difference maker if he makes the NHL full time, and from the sounds of it same for DiPietro, don't know anything about Myrenberg but I doubt he's some steal

In short, who cares lol

3 Future AHLer's IMO. Jack might have bottom 6 upside, but really not a whole lot of value here

Studs was going to get waived with BOS getting healthy now. Seemed likely he would get claimed so might as well get something for him and not lose him for nothing.

Im a big fan of Studnicka. Really like this for both sides, but the Bruins get the more sure-fire prospects IMO

Why do I get the feeling this is a precursor to a Hoglander for Bear trade.

I say fair with a slight edge to Boston because Myrenberg has a chance to be something. Both have not worked out and both are on similar paths.

Sucks to see that DiPietro wasnt able to pan out, seemed like a great guy, org really did him wrong, but if the nucks essentially had to give up a future call up /#7 RHD then they did all right for the same thing in a guy like Studnika

3 middling prospects who all need a change of scenery.

Nothing to write home about.

Fair deal.

I'm glad to see Vancouver's GM doesn't have more important issues to fix than tunning his AHL roster...

Both of the main guys being exchanged were slated for better things but fell off along the way.

I'd say the immediate reaction is that it looks a bit better for the Bruins; not just because they got 2 prospects back but given how goaltenders can peak later than skaters, DiPietro could end up having some use down the line.

You can look at this deal two ways:

1. Canucks get a good reclamation project, while Boston monetizes an asset in need of a scenery change
2. Canucks unload a distressed asset while they give up their best RD prospect in their system, but it's up to your individual interpretation whether or not you consider that to be saying much, while the Bruins get an unproven player whom they could look to potentially sign to an ELC down the road, as well as some decent AHL depth between the pipes

Personally, I lean more towards this trade favoring Vancouver a bit, as I think Studnicka is probably the most likely of the three assets in the deal to play a notable amount of NHL games down the road, but I certainly don't think Boston should feel any remorse on their part in getting this trade done

I think Bruins will get the best long-term asset here in a future back-up goalie.
