I like all these trades for the Canucks, so I agree it's not too early. They just can't make a panic trade and dump a guy to "shake things up".

I do worry because the Canes are next and it's been a doozy of a start. There's definitely some chemistry issues. And hearing Rutherford talk about a poor camp and bad habits was a bit alarming. It's much harder to make moves once the season gets going.

Why? They downgrade their defence and forward group for a goalie prospect going no where.

Pearson would battle Aube Kubel, Simmonds and Clifford for time as the 13th forward and Schenn is much worse than Holl. This is just a bad deal across the board.

Canuck fans have spent the entire summer saying how Holl is so bad and now they want him because it's obvious to all who actually understand hockey that Holl would be a sizeable upgrade to your absolutely crater of a right side defence. Holl is a good depth defenceman making only 2 million. Why would TO move him for a 7/8 defenceman and then downgrade Engvall to Pearson on top of that?

Haha, I made multiple acgms with Holl in the offseason. I saw the minutes and positive impact in defensive #s. Obviously playoffs made that forgotten quite easily. But I hear what you're saying.

The thing is, so many people on this site hate everything Leafs and I'm not saying you have to like something, just be honest about a player even if he plays for a team you hate but an incredible amount of people can't separate these things.
