We're helping ourselves, simmonds is a solid vet with playoff experience who can actually fight, plus we'll get a pick out of it. Lets be real, leafs goaltending is ****ed with or without some random backup goalie. Somebody is gonna do this deal, might as well be us.

Simmonds can't really play anymore. But his presence on the bench will make opponents much less BRAVE on the ice. This could be good for the Sens young guys. Good nuclear deterrent.

You're not. We're paying you to take on a completely buriable deal that can move up and down through waivers for a time. Doesn't really make sense for the Leafs.

Yeah I don't think the Leafs would downgrade a pick to move a player who clears waivers and has no impact on our cap, plus the fact that he still has influence in the dressing is very important.

It doesn't matter that he can clear waivers though, they have 50/50 contracts even with him in the minors. Dubas has put them in a corner and they need another spot for a goalie, otherwise I agree they wouldn't take this deal.

We have kallgren so unless he goes down this move is off the table. down to trade him for futures tho. just want to let the man keep playing.
