honestly this was a solid game overall. after dropping to being down 3-1, i dont think any habs fans should be complaining seeing FIVE STRAIGHT GOALS. im also really happy that we saw goals from each of Suzuki, Caufield, and Slafkovsky.
Speaking of Slafkovsky, he looked solid this game coming back from injury. I think that having him with Monahan really helped him, and Monahan was good with Dach, so I want to see a Slafkovsky-Dach-Monahan line.
Dvorak had his first career hatty this game, which is always great to see. He had a solid game today.
Guhle made a couple mistakes this game that stood out to me, but he's a rookie and he's learning. He'll have these bumps and he's done good enough with Savard as the top pairing dman, especially since he just got thrown into the fire.
The Harris-Kovacevic pairing has been great. Kovacevic was a great pickup on waivers, I don't think he passes through waivers if he's sent down again (which I don't think happens. IMO Edmundson Matheson Guhle Savard Harris Xhekaj Kovacevic will stay in the NHL).
Wideman was very invisible this game, which isn't too encouraging since he's supposed to be a more offensively-minded defenseman. Xhekaj was visible in the first period, but somewhat disappeared after that. An off-day for those two guys, imo.
Caufield and Suzuki are an UNSTOPPABLE duo. Put anyone beside them, even Mike f*cking Hoffman, and they're still putting up points. Caufield has 7 goals in 9 games... 64 goal pace...….. unbelievable. Both of them are PPG this year which is extremely encouraging for the future. Suzuki is less visible than Caufield in general because he does the things away from the puck that help Caufield put it in the back of the net.
Dadonov not being in the lineup today seemed to definitely be a positive, but I genuinely think that Drouin would've done better in the lineup than Hoffman. Not complaining about Dadonov being out though.
Allen was unbelievably solid this game. MTL had no chance without him.
