Description

MacDonald has been placed on SOIR (season opening IR) so his cap doesn't count.

Thus the Avs are running with a 20 man roster to start the season, albeit with Helm and Landeskog on IR. Seems their plan is to bank/accrue as much cap space as possible early on which is good to see.

Yes. But Avs also have the option of putting Nichushkin there like in the playoffs. He had good chemistry with Mackinnon.

I still think it's criminal that Sedlak made the team - he was awful in the preseason and should have been one of the first cuts. I'd say they play Blidh over MacDermid but it is the Hawks up first so, whatever.

Agreed. Bednar likes to mix the lines a lot especially to create matchup problems down the line.

They probably just used him as insurance incase Nashville ended up not waiving Ingram or Lankinen (i.e. in case they found a trade or either of them got hurt and put on IR)

goalies were going to go on waivers regardless, they just jumped on the first one, it was so bizarre.

Either way im going to assume hes getting claimed to come back to the Eagles, he wanted to be in Colorado, and the Avs/Eagles both wanted him.

Really wished sedlak wasn't here, he looked awful in preseason would've rather given a young guy a shot at wing and move Meyers to the center role.

Top 6 will be changed a lot without landy in if things don't work out well but other than that no complaints
