Description
Nothing really earth shattering here. All of these are very reasonable trades, maybe just different teams.

Boston will need some cap flexibility. To fit Reilly in, San Jose can burry Simek and send another player down prior to making any other moves.

    1. Reimer, James (1 125 000 $ retained)
    Détails additionnels:
Reimer to a playoff contender bolstering their net. This is assuming he has a similar year to last year(2.90 gaa, .911sv%). Comp is MAF (2.95 gaa, .908 sv%) last year at the deadline went for 2022 2nd round pick.

    1. Bonino, Nick (1 000 000 $ retained)
    Détails additionnels:
Sent to any contender looking for veteran forward depth. If he keeps a 15 goal pace like last year I think this is a fair trade, maybe even a 3rd.

Then you're probably not getting rid of him, which may not need to even happen anyway.

I'd be shocked if a team as desperate for young prospects as San Jose doesn't move Meier. He seems like the perfect player to trade for a large futures package.

we're still cap compliant with him waived so we'll just wait until the deadline to trade him for some value

What’s his value going to be coming back from an injury and not playing nhl games all year?

I don’t see it. I know it makes sense but prospects are a gamble, Meier is a for sure talent that’s only 26. Sign him 8 years and he’s early 30s and get him all of his prime. Unless they get multiple top prospects and 1st rounder I don’t see it happening.

Which is absolutely fine. It was just a paper transaction to buy some time to get some LTIR relief.

sharks actually have a pretty solid prospect pool the issue is our best prospects are 20-18 and not quite NHL ready. If sharks can resign Meier long term they should keep him as his skill and talent is hard to find, but if he won’t resign i see a top prospect and a 1st plus being the package.

I would be shocked to see him not plucked up by a D needy team, but sharks can’t afford good D play this year. not with Bedard and Fantilli at the top of this draft.

So what’s his value when he doesn’t play any nhl games all year? You really think some team will come calling for a $3 mil cap hit dman who hasn’t played an nhl game all year? I don’t see it.

Let’s be real, even if they got Reilly, they still are in contention for Bedard. A 3/4 defenseman isn’t going to push this team that far, they have more flaws than that.

It could put those two out of reach and push them more closer to 5-8 OA
as is the sharks are already a long shot for the top 2 spots but could be 3/4 OA
the sharks biggest weakness this year is their top 4 D, second is another 2 Top 6 forwards.
Reilly could make a 4-5 win difference honestly.

Goal scoring will still be their biggest issue I think, and Reilly won’t add to that.

their D if a much bigger issue, sharks have 2 top 4 D and one is almost guarantied to miss 20 games this season.
goal scoring is a distant 2nd to their pathetic D.
I don’t think enough people realize how good Burns was for our team.

After Bordeleau and Eklund, who do the Sharks have that are premier prospects? Ozzy?

By the time the Sharks prospects step in and contribute in the top 6 roles they're projected for:

    A. Hertl will be in his 30s
    B. Couture and Karlsson will continue to decline
    C. Meier will be close to, if not in his 30s

I don't see how this is going to work for SJ, feels like they're heading in the direction the 2016 Blackhawks went in. Trying so hard to hold onto something that isn't there, just tear it all down.

Gushin Robins Coe Weisblatt Eklund and Bordeleau all have top 9 forward expectations, they have 2-3 potential NHL starters in the prospect pool, the biggest area of weakness in our prospect pool is a Tier 1 Elite forward and top 4 D prospects. beyond Laroque and possibly fisher and Havelid the sharks have just a bunch of 5-7 ceiling guys.

Reilly is not going to the AHL. He was assigned to the minors so the Bruins could have a cap compliant team by Tuesday, place Marchand/McAvoy on LTIR on Day 1 today and recall him. He's staying in the NHL.

I'm not sure the sharks need a ton of prospects... or that our prospect pool is that bad actually. Eklund, bordy, merkley (maybe), laroque, hattaka, cicek, guschin coe robins lund, havelid + we have some decent tweeners
