Andersson would be nice, but Ehlers has far too much value to Winnipeg for the Jets to consider.

The forwards are nice but you can't gut the defence like that and hope that somehow Mackey magically turns into a top 4 dman.

I don't see Calgary trading Rasmus Andersson but the Jets can't afford to lose Ehlers, they are sooooo reliant on him to make their offense go plus they have too many dmen as it is anyway.

Doesn't sound like WPG would give up Ehlers, but you gotta give to get. I don't see this as a gut at all. Kylington stepped up last season, so with Tanev as his partner, it's not that far fetched to believe Mackey would do well at 2LD as well. It's basically the same Defense as last season sans Gudbransson, but Meloche might be a decent replacement at 3RD as well. As long as the puck control is in the offensive zone the majority of the time with a deep Forward Group like I've proposed, they'd do okay and there's still room to bring in another impact D-Man at the Trade Deadline

If you can move Schmidt, DeMelo and/or Dillon, you could then promote Stanley, Heinola or Samberg back in to the line-up assuming they're ready for full-time NHL Duties
