Kane TDL

Créé par: TMLBRIAN
Équipe: 2022-23 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 6 oct. 2022
Publié: 6 oct. 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This is a way too early post tradeline team prediction

Patrick Kane extends 1 years 2.625m before the trade is completed. This way he is on the same team as Matthews for one extra year. Leafs only make the trade on this basis also.

Based on my calculations the probability of Muzzin being on LTIR by the TDL is 73.76%.

Cup Contender?

Thoughts?

Do I need a cap friendly time out?

Honestly I will put it at 33% chance. I could see Kane taking the 1 year 2.625m so he can play with Matthews until his contract is up as well. It's wishful thinking of course, but it isn't completely insane. With Kane, this year and next, they would be a serious cup contender. Of course Kane on the open market gets a lot more than that. He would still have the opportunity to sign 1 more money deal after this 1 year.

You need a capfriendly time out as that is completely insane that you think Kane would sign for that; Matthews is not $6M that important to Kane...in fact i doubt he's worth $1M in Kane's eyes. There's in fact rumors out of the Chicago media that Toronto is one place he will not waive for...I don't quite understand why that would be the case but nonetheless it's out there.

Great player but not what the leafs need. They need a power forward someone to get the puck for Tavares so he can be in front of the net where he belongs. Kane and Nylander don't fit that role.

Leafs first and 2nd lines in this agm are completely nuts. He would play where chemistry fits. Marner is superior to Kane today and they play on the same wing.

there's already rumors that he wont come to toronto

In terms of careers - clearly Kane is superior. In terms of who the better player is today.. it's Marner. And that's no disrespect to Kane because he is still a top player in the league.

Our defence is very good. 1 upgrade would be beneficial but overall it's very good. Our depth at forward and at D are almost unmatched league wide. Goaltending.... that's a wait and see. Definitely disagree with the route that Dubas went but I hope he proves us all wrong.

    that's debatable
    sure marner is better analytically
but kane is superior in all aspects of the game and is a better team player and knows how to win
Marner doesn't have that him in
or at least we haven't seen it

Will cost at least a 3rd to pry Schenn out of Vancouver, and that's assuming the Canucks don't just extend him for another 1-2 years while he still has game left

    Per Kevin Weekes...(Frank Seravalli)

"Kane has also been linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers and his hometown Buffalo Sabres, though, per ESPN NHL insider Kevin Weekes, Kane has informed Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson that he will NOT accept a trade to the Leafs."

Well I'm just gonna say it... this is adorable!
I'm going to ignore the extension because it's ridiculous. Sorry. Just being honest. Zero chance of that.
But even just as a rental this won't be the best package on the table at the deadline, and let's not pretend Kane wouldn't prefer to chase a Cup with PIT, CGY, TBL, COL, NYR...
Given the age of Pittsburgh's roster and their playoff struggles of late, I could see them going ALL IN on Kane for one last Cup run before actually rebuilding/retooling.

What is all of this nonsense about a Kane trade? There is ZERO credibility to any of these rumors. Kane has explicitly stated that there have been NO TALKS about asking for a trade with his family, his agent, or the Blackhawks yet. Any reporter who says otherwise is fishing. I'm almost positive it is going to happen at some point this season, but that ball has not started rolling yet.
