Best Possible RWs on Expiring Contracts That Arent Named Patrick Kane

Description
Right Wing is easily considered the biggest Position of need for the Rangers in 22-23. Which is still dependent on whether Kakko finally takes a big step. And if Kravstov can actually cut it in the NHL after his previous temper tantrums. And whether Blais can shake off the cob webs after taking a year off due to injury (and then managing to stay healthy, on top of that).

Kane is easily considered the Top target on these boards for the Rangers to acquire at the TDL and therefore fix the potential issue.

However, certain issues could prevent this from happening...

1) A bidding war (or even just an unreasonable asking price by Chicago) jacks up the price to the point where acquiring Kane becomes too pricy. Or...

2) Kane doesn't want to come to NY, and uses his NMC to steer a trade to another team of his choosing (regardless of who has the best offer).

In the event that Kane doesn't end up on Broadway, these are my next best options (in order) to fill that RW spot (among expiring Contracts) at the TDL.

Which would be your preference? Feel free to add any options of your own, if you choose.
Transactions
1.
NYR
  1. Pavelski, Joe (2 750 000 $ retained)
DAL
Assuming Dallas is out of Playoff contention.

Can play both RW and C. Provides an excellent net front presence. Could even get Power Play time.
    2.
    NYR
    1. Dadonov, Evgeni (2 500 000 $ retained)
    MTL
Montreal is going nowhere, so this player is probably the one that will be the most available at the TDL.

Jeff Gorton has a familiarity with trade pieces in the Rangers system. While I am not saying I would hand over Kravtsov, there are probably other players that could entice him in a deal.
      3.
      NYR
      1. Nyquist, Gustav (2 750 000 $ retained)
      CBJ
Versatility in being able to play either Wing could come in handy. Could mix and match him with Lafrenière, depending on linemates.
        4.
        NYR
        1. Okposo, Kyle (3 000 000 $ retained)
        BUF
Personally, I am not overly interested in this option. Been relatively underwhelming throughout his time in Buffalo.

But he is a big body with a decent scoring touch. Both of which are valuable in the Playoffs.

I think he would also be the cheapest to acquire, as far as assets given up.

Okposo would be a great deadline pickup. Not only for the rangers but anyone.

I don’t think he moves, but pastrnak should top your list.

Don't think Pasta or Tarasenko will be made available at the TDL.

Both will not only have high price tags, but will be playing on potential Playoff teams.

Boston may be more on the Playoff bubble (especially with all their injuries), but there already seems to be a willingness between both sides to hammer out an extension.

I think this is the last year for Tarasenko in St Louis. But with the Blues still one of the better teams in the Western Conference, he has more value now than to move for futures. Tough spot, but is what it is.

So yes, while both of those players are better than the options I listed, I purposely omitted them due to the fact that they won't be made available.

Pavelski would be my choice for the Rangers out of that group. Stick him with young guns on PP2 and see what happens

I explained the reasoning for leaving off Pasta and Tarasenko in my response to DefenseFirst.

          Tomas Tatar!

(Also, don’t think Pavelski goes anywhere but Dallas, San Jose or Wisconsin).

Forgot about Tatar. Liked him a lot in the past, but feel like he took a step back last year.

Worth considering, but wouldn't be higher than 4th or 5th on my list. The Devils might not even want to move him to a rival (but we did swap Michael Grabner in the past, though).

They made it to the ECF last year. Considering the expectations coming off that performance, along with the impending Cap crunch, I would absolutely think they would go all in by moving Picks for potential upgrades. Especially now with a pair of 1st Rounders.

They have Othmann, Cuylle, Trivigno and Robertson who will be ELC options for them in 23-24. Trading Chytil after this Season, along with one of Goodrow or Lindgren (hopefully not Lindgren) will provide more Cap relief.
