Assuming this comes with a debrincat extension I still don't think the islanders do it. Top pair RHD on that good of a contract has more value than pretty much any winger.

Assuming Dobson is their top pair RD, Thomson could become their 2nd RD. It makes sense to me.

That's a lot of assumptions. Say all that pans out I think it'd be more of a 1 for 1 if not a low pick going back to the islanders.

Dufour worth more than Thomson rn imo, especially to a team trying to score more goals like NYI.

No way you get that much more for DeBrincat than what you traded, especially with a big pay-day looming. A one-for-one Pulock trade is possible if DeBrincat agrees to an extension with the Isles beforehand

I don’t think Dufour has top line potential . Probably middle 6 and a swap for a potential 2nd pair guy is probably close to fair

He’s one of those players who will either be a 4th liner or a 2nd liner. It really depends if he can get his shot off at the NHL level.

i mean...the value feels fair. Obviously a ton would depend on how Alex Romanov and Robin Salo progress this season, and what the Scott Mayfield replacement is going to be at RD3. But Pelech-Dobson feels like a hell of a top pair, and if Romanov is good enough to shepherd Thomson around on the 2nd pair, I could live with Salo-UFA RD3 TBNL as a more sheltered pair if it means getting Barzal *someone* who can reliably score goals.

your kidding right? I'm no Debrincat guy but on a team with solid D and lacking offense a 40+ goal guy at 24/25 years of age is worth more to me.

we will se what he does in a team with a stacked top 6 where teams can’t focus their D structure on just his line! have a feeling if he is healthy and the chemestry is there Norris gets 40 and Debrincat gets 50 this year!
