I like Toews, but he isn't worth a quarter of that. Even with retention.

I'd sign Toews to a reasonable 1 year deal next season but I can't see WPG giving up any assets to acquire him this year. I also can't see WPG being interested in moving Lowry either, he's a big part of what will be the new leadership group of this team.

Rangers need Toews more than Kane. Even if they needed Kane - not doing it at that price.

That Pens trade doesn't make sense on many levels.

AA is a nice piece, but the Pens are over the cap and literally no room on the roster. A roster player would have to go back the other way.

The overall value in that trade doesn't make sense. Again, AA is a nice piece, but that's a lot to give up on the Pens side. I know you're sending back some picks, but that's just too much for the Pens to give up. He's not worth that much.
