So far I'm impressed with Caufield (obviously), Dach, and Guhle. I think these 3 standout as impactful top of the lineup players Montreal can build around.
Heineman also looks really close, maybe one more year once MTL loses some wingers he will be ready. I also love Simoneau's game, I think he's going to impress in Laval, might be a Desharnais 2.0 (although he's shown more of a willingness to battle in front of the net and shoot).
Going back to Dach, his speed is impressive, especially for a 6'4" skater. He is clearly more a playmaker than a shooter so I like this combination with Caufield. Perhaps this gives Suzuki some other options, Drouin - Suzuki - Armia was once a successful line... Drouin and Armia could use the boost in value.
Drouin - Suzuki - Armia
Caufield - Dach - Anderson
Dadanov - Dvorak - Gallagher
Hoffman - Monahan - Evans
Pitlick, Pezzetta ?
Don't want to count Slafkovsky out yet but so far I think he needs more seasoning. Slafkovsky + Simoneau = Pacioretty + Desharnais?
Edit:
Actually maybe Heineman is a better comparison to Pacioretty, strong skater, some smarts and a heavy shot.
