Matthew Tkachuk should be the comparable in any Robertson trade.

DeBrincat’s deal ends after this season. This comes with term. That’s pretty valuable

Plus Robertson is arguably a better player

There's no way jersey deals Nemec, but if they did there isn't going to be a 2024 1st that is only top 3 protected.

Also, not sure why Dallas would want Severson if they are getting Nemec, without someone to replace Robertson they probably won't make the playoffs, or pass the first round if they sneak in. Beyond this year they would have Nemec and Lundkvist. For cap purposes and practical reasons it would make more sense for Johnsson to be sent to Dallas who could use him, and NJ could then get value out of Severson elsewhere and they would lose less assets that way.

Say that after he puts up two 41G seasons. I think highly of him, but DeBrincat is only a year older but with five consistent years under his belt.

The only potential issue I could see in this deal with Severson's status. If DAL was able to pre-negotiate an extension I could see that working. I would also take Nemec out of the deal and I think you're still good.

I do put a lot of stock into Jfresh's WAR cards. My only thing here is sample size. Robertson has two seasons under his belt and DeBrincat has five with two 41G seasons. Five seasons and being only 24 speaks volumes.

Exactly, for me, Debrincat and Robertson are equal.

The offer for Tkachuk was the 2nd overall pick. Should Robertson cost more?

I actually pulled their micros before saying that lol. It’s honestly a win-win with either one, which is why I would choose definite term as more valuable.
