Gaudreau, Johnson and Laine have shown they have good chemistry, That could be our first line for opening day.

"THE REAL DEAL" James Neal gets a proper contract, as does Victor Rask. Neal goes to Cleveland to be a mentor to the kids, and Rask is our 13th forward for the time being.

Kirill Marchenko notched an assist on the Blankenburg goal in Game 1, and had a few good scoring opportunities. Having Silli and Captain Boone feed him the puck would be good for him.

He's a big dude (6'5", 196 lbs), and has shown his potential to be a starter in the KHL (.925 SV% and 2.07 GAA in 16 games for Ufa in the KHL back in 2020-21). I'd argue he's better at the current moment than Joonas Korpisalo, and now that Korpi's confirmed to be out indefinitely, he'll take that backup spot behind Elvis.

Neither Jenner nor Sillinger are good facilitators of the puck. I’m not sure having three goal scorers on a line will work. Maybe Marchenko can develop the ability to carry the puck and be a playmaker, but that isn’t his game now and it shouldn’t be expected in his rookie season. I think Roslovic would be better between those two.

Besides Roslovic that C line up is weak, Johnson and Sillinger are really good, but I do not think either one is ready physically and defensively to play full time top 6 C minutes and matchups.

Roslovic with the Top line makes a lot of sense he can shield them physically and make up for the lack of D from the other two.

Well Sillinger played 81 games pretty well and in a top-6 role at times as an 18 year old so I’m pretty sure he can handle the physical rigors. Johnson might have issues there, but the skill and IQ are definitely there already from everything we’ve seen this summer.

I watched a few Columbus games and I thought Sillinger was getting thrown around and knocked down a lot more than he should like Stuztle does on the Sens. No knock against either player I think they will both be all-stars, but like Stuzle they need to get stronger on their skates and add some weight/ strength for all three players mentioned to be a true 1C on a team contending to get into the playoffs.
