As a leafs fan I’d love hoglander but I fear Vancouver wouldn’t want to part with him

Neither team would, but especially the Leafs who need Sandin, for Vancouver they have a surplus of wingers and LD, obviously they wouldn't add the pick but even without it doesn't make much sense.

Plus, the Leafs also have an abundance of forwards trying to make the team already.
