I agree with you. Their forward group is good but I don't like their bottom 6 very much. Goaltending is good. Left side defence is super suspect. No Idea why they traded Weegar. They have a giant Weegar sized hole on D.

This team is gonna have to fight to make the playoffs in my mind. Bubble team. They aren't terrible by any means but I don't see them being a contender.

OH and they are more than 3m over the cap still which they will need to solve. With very few prospects and picks.

Management has done a very poor job from the trade deadline and the off season in my mind. They were in a great position before the TDL this past year and now they look quite rough.

Couldn’t agree more. I thought they massively overpaid for Chiarot on top of the fact I thought Kulak would have been a better fit or even better yet instead of adding Giroux and Chiarot using the assets they swapped out to get Chychrun. Then the Tkachuk trade where I thought they got taken to the woodshed.

Wonder what they're gonna do to get cap compliant, doesn't seem like just LTIRing Duclair will be enough, guess sending a guy down and just carrying one spare should be enough though.

Edit: Also think Maurice is a really bad fit for this team, one thing he's good at is getting decent play out of a meh defense though.

That blueline is not a playoff-caliber defense.
