When Shattenkirk played for St Louis, he swore he'd never play in Canada. And i don't see him changing now.

1: Shatty has stated multiple times he won't play in Canada.

2: I highly doubt we use a retention spot on less than 1 mil.

3: If we take cap back it has to be on expiring contracts or be someone we want, at a minimum needs to fill a hole in our roster. Pearson is none of these.

We think with 50% retention Shatty should land us a 2nd round pick in 23, it's also possible at this point we give him small, team friendly extensions to bridge the gap we have at RD in the coming season.

Keep dreaming we eat that contract for you guys

Has to have some salary going back the other way though, and maybe the Ducks can flip Pearson at 50% for other assets

He is to other teams imo, exactly in the same boat to Kerfoot. Both have good value but there’s just no market for him

There is definitely a market for both players, just not very big

If we are retaining 900k on Shattenkirk and then Pearson, then that's 2/3 retention spots for a 2nd, 4th, and whatever we get for Pearson.

We have other retention considerations that prevent us from eating up two of them here, and as for keeping him, we are overflowing at LW. If he was right shot right winger, there might be a conversation to be had here.

Maybe no need to retain on Shattenkirk, but you could flip Pearson at 50% to a contender for a 2nd, and save a 2nd retention slot for Klingberg.

Then educate yourself before you make a judgement

If Vancouver fans think Pearson has such value why is he traded in almost every Canucks ACGM?

Because they're desperate to see change just for the sake of change, which management said they won't do
