Description
Dubas in his last year has to swing for the fences.. right? These are things I've been thinking about lately. I doubt they happen but can see them as possible... I would love for one of them to happen if not all..... Leafs are also cap compliant when liljegren comes back if they send robertson down. let me know what you think reasonably.

No thx. Leafs are top 5 offensive team right now and have a ton of options at forward; if anything hoglander is over rated.

Roy is not available.

Even if he was, that offer is laughable. That wouldn't even get you Sean Walker.

Is Hoglander as overrated as Leafs regular season success? After the 5000 proposals on here about dumping Holl's cap you would think you would jump at the opportunity.

Why does everyone think Roy is a necessity to pickup? He is a slightly better but more expensive Holl. Averages less TOI/GP, has slightly better analytical results, less points, less hits and blocked shots, has a worse giveaway-takeaway ratio, and his microstats aren’t better. I would rather have Roy than Holl, but a 1.25 mil pay gap is barely worth it. Roy is very similar to Holl but a little more less prone to giveaways with an even lower offensive value provided

There is no market for Kerfoot.
-23 teams don't have less than $2.4m open cap, so futures trades are out.
-DAL needs to sign J Rob (24 teams out)
-BUF, AZ, CHI, DET, ANA are in rebuild mode and aren't going to pay to get a rental (29 teams out)
-OTT needs to see what they have before they go shopping (30 teams out)
-WIN isn't a Kerfoot away from the Playoffs, and looking like they'll be a seller this year. (31 teams out)
-That leaves MN as the only real possible landing spot, and they already have their own version of him in Jost. (32 teams out)

OTT, WIN, and MN might be interested Kerfoot for a dumpster 4th/5th, but anything more than that and they are better off keeping their cap/picks until later in the season.

EDM/Poolparty and MN/Dumba (to name a couple) have the same problems with lack of a market.

Matt Roy isn't for sale, but I think I can answer the why.

Matt Roy took over Drew Doughty's role last season and had some incredibly hard assignments. Matt Roy is a pure defensive defenseman and would be seen to open up a more offensive type player (Muzzin or Morgan). To put it into perspective 36 year old Alex Edler rebounded offensively the moment he was paired with Matt Roy.

If you are looking to move Muzzin next season, Roy would artificially boost his defensive numbers and set him up better offensively. Unfortunately, Matt Roy is one of the few defensive defensemen we can rely on against extremely tough competition, so it's a no go.

Der-Arguchintsev is of no interest to a team which is overloaded with center prospects (Vilardi, Byfield, Turcotte, Madden, Pinelli, Helenius, to name just a few). The third and the fourth probably wouldn't get you an NHL-ready defense prospect like Jacob Moverare or Jordan Spence. (If Nils Lundkvist's REAL trade value is a first-half second-rounder instead of what Dallas overpaid for him, then kids with actual NHL experience are easily worth that.). Matt Roy fits our team like a glove; we won't be trading him unless it's for a similar overpayment that also fits our roster. (Translation: top-4 LhD.)

Sorry, must have missed those Canucks parades 😅. You’ve missed the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years, smh. Only in canuckle land could a guy averaging 10 goals / season be considered a top prospect tears of joy . Robertson has much higher ceiling but b/c we’re a good team, we can leave him in ahl to find his game. He’ll be up this or next year and pot 20+; enjoy mediocrity. Canuckle fans rule, all that weed I guess

Don't do drugs sorry man. So you finish your season 7 games later big deal. I like the gif yesterday, there are currently no active NHL payers that have lost a playoff series to the Leafs.

Could be second hand smoke then? And if you don’t win the cup, then I don’t care how many series you win. So 31 disappointed teams last year but I’d still rather have superstar players & make the playoffs every year.

We have won an equal amount of cups since our existence. What are you going to brag next about winning back in the day when there was six teams and territorial rights for drafting in that East Coast league back in the 60's ?

For now, just being a much, much better hockey team for the past ~7 years, this year & foreseeable future. You can always join the remote Leaf parade in Vancouver when we win cool ; b/c I see half the arena is wearing leaf jerseys when we play there.

Agree to disagree. Your back end and goalie suck. I give you one more year and the the window will start to close and we are trending up. We were 2 for 2 last year against the Leafs.

As far as the half the arena wearing Leaf jersey? Yeah we buy a ticket for 100 bucks sell it to some Leaf fanatic for 700 and go home and watcg us kick their asses on TV .

Canucks sv 93.02%, #1
Leafs sv 90.87%, #27

Better to use hdca:
Leafs 701, #10
Canucks 761, #18

Takeaway the goalie; nah even with the goalie - Canucks are are a thoroughly average team. Leafs are top 10 in every category; most importantly perennial playoff team.

OEL & Tyler Myers are in your top 4 - easily two of the worst contracts in the league. Come on now, smh

Goaltending can steal a series in the playoffs. A goalie can decide whether you make the first round, or make the finals

Yet we finished 4th overall (115 points) and you finished 18th overall (92 points). And you had the best goaltending in the league and played in the worst division, by far and we still finished 23 points ahead. But you’re better than us tears of joy - like I said, pretty funny squinty smile

Yes, you outscored your problems we get that. It doesn't change the fact that your back end still sucks, and we beat you twice. We had terrible coaching at the beginning of the year we changed it and our team improved overnight. Like I said enjoy your high-powered scoring for one more year. You won't win anything but enjoy the year as the window will close.

No-one outside of Leafs fans seems to want to recognize how good a team the Leafs are. I get it - jealousy is a strong emotion. Think you’ll be hard pressed to make the playoffs (not enough goals) - but good luck to canuckles anyway; always like to see Canadian teams do well.

No jealousy what-so-ever. I am actually glad my team is not the Leafs. I see nothing but headaches for years ahead and I imagine you will be dumping your GM next year also. I don't even know who coaches your team but I think it is an AHL graduate? You are more like the Canucks than you believe hahaha.
