Description
Dubas in his last year has to swing for the fences.. right? These are things I've been thinking about lately. I doubt they happen but can see them as possible... I would love for one of them to happen if not all..... Leafs are also cap compliant when liljegren comes back if they send robertson down. let me know what you think reasonably.

Sorry, must have missed those Canucks parades 😅. You’ve missed the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years, smh. Only in canuckle land could a guy averaging 10 goals / season be considered a top prospect tears of joy . Robertson has much higher ceiling but b/c we’re a good / great team, we can leave him in ahl to find his game. He’ll be up this or next year and pot 20+; enjoy mediocrity. Canuckle fans rule, all that weed I guess

Stick with good. Great teams get out of the first round every decade or so

That’s fair enough; I’ll retract great (but keep it on ice 🤞).

Matt Roy isn't for sale, but I think I can answer the why.

Matt Roy took over Drew Doughty's role last season and had some incredibly hard assignments. Matt Roy is a pure defensive defenseman and would be seen to open up a more offensive type player (Muzzin or Morgan). To put it into perspective 36 year old Alex Edler rebounded offensively the moment he was paired with Matt Roy.

If you are looking to move Muzzin next season, Roy would artificially boost his defensive numbers and set him up better offensively. Unfortunately, Matt Roy is one of the few defensive defensemen we can rely on against extremely tough competition, so it's a no go.

I never said I wanted Roy; I’m making my case for why I don’t think we should get him actually. Calling Muzz a “more offensive type player” is not a very good take, considering he is just as valuable if not more in the defensive end as he is in the offensive. Roy I would like on the Leafs obviously, and I do agree the fit is certainly there next to a guy like Rielly, however my point is that the gap between him and Holl is nothing major. Mock trades/asks for Roy I have seen are a 1st/Sandin +, if not more, whereas Holl rn is worth very little. The gap between the two is not much as Roy’s defensive value is not too much higher than Holl, and when considering Holl’s better offensive side of the game, I give Roy a pretty small edge in terms of who the better player is. In the Leafs system, I’m sure Roy could show to have more of a value gap between him and Holl as there is rn, especially if paired next to Rielly, but my point being is that it’s really not worth all the extra assets we would need to pay when Holl plays very similar minutes in terms of total ice time and PK (Roy handled tougher mins when Doughty was out but again, Holl still took on big mins on the 2nd pair next to Muzz).
My argument here is not against you or the LA Kings fanbase but against my fellow Leafs fans who call Holl trash when the Defencemen they want don’t prove to be that much more valuable. Holl is a scapegoat, just like Ceci and Gardiner were. All 3 prone to mistakes more than the average defenceman but overall they made a positive impact on the ice

There is no market for Kerfoot.
-23 teams don't have less than $2.4m open cap, so futures trades are out.
-DAL needs to sign J Rob (24 teams out)
-BUF, AZ, CHI, DET, ANA are in rebuild mode and aren't going to pay to get a rental (29 teams out)
-OTT needs to see what they have before they go shopping (30 teams out)
-WIN isn't a Kerfoot away from the Playoffs, and looking like they'll be a seller this year. (31 teams out)
-That leaves MN as the only real possible landing spot, and they already have their own version of him in Jost. (32 teams out)

OTT, WIN, and MN might be interested Kerfoot for a dumpster 4th/5th, but anything more than that and they are better off keeping their cap/picks until later in the season.

EDM/Poolparty and MN/Dumba (to name a couple) have the same problems with lack of a market.

AZ, CHI,, ANA are in rebuild mode and aren't going to pay to get a rental (unless paid to do do)

WIN Have been in the market for a middle 6 LW/C who can slide up & down the line-up~ Fits

No thx. Leafs are top 5 offensive team right now and have a ton of options at forward; if anything hoglander is over rated.

He's not overrated

Canucks sv 93.02%, #1
Leafs sv 90.87%, #27

Better to use hdca:
Leafs 701, #10
Canucks 761, #18

Takeaway the goalie; nah even with the goalie - Canucks are are a thoroughly average team. Leafs are top 10 in every category; most importantly perennial playoff team.

OEL & Tyler Myers are in your top 4 - easily two of the worst contracts in the league. Come on now, smh

Not even close to being the two worst contracts in the league. Delusional
