it's a troll post, sure, but like...there's stuff worth discussing
-Isles counter with Sebastian Aho (the bad one) & a 4th for Elias Pettersson (the good one)
-Not worth it for either side. The downgrade at 1C for the Isles is too much (C depth would now be Nelson-JGP-3C[Raty?]-Cizikas), and those 1sts are probably late in the round where the value is less exciting. And Barzal needing a new deal next summer means it's very likely that Minnesota gets to relive the whole Kevin Fiala saga all over again, seeing as they'll have two more years of buyout hell to navigate.
-I mean, Ottawa accepts just because the value is there, but the other side of the sword is that this all but guarantees they *have* to play Nikita Zaitsev every night. Subtraction by addition, if you ask me.
-Easy no, obvious reasons. Pittsburgh already has a pair of $6M RD signed with term, they're gonna add ANOTHER? Pass for the Pens.
-This pair of trades actually is interesting. Pelech for Sanheim & Philly's 2023 1st basically gives you a Bedard lottery ticket. If you can turn Sanheim into Vlasic and San Jose's 1st, you've got two strong chances at a top tier pick. Obviously trading Pelech isn't in the cards, but if something insane happened tomorrow and Jon Ledecky decided it's time to burn it all down, this is the type of trade I could get behind.
-On the other end, not enough value here. Campbell's deal is more expensive than Sorokin's, he's older, and he's a worse goalie. The difference in value between the two isn't made up for with a late 1st.
