Interestingly enough, it opens up new questions regarding D prospects next season. Here's how I see it playing out to start the season... and wow are we in trouble!

Harris Savard as top pair (yikes!) - Savard does the stay at home defender role as much as possible and Harris brings offence where he can...

Matheson Barron as middle pair (both can play a 2-way game). Barron will probably focus on defense as much as possible and leave the offence to Matheson

Guhle Wideman (scary). Poor Guhle will have to break into the league playing with a partner who cannot give him advice on how to adjust his game to the NHL. It's gonna be a true "trial by fire".

While I am incredibly excited to see these players run with it, I am extremely conscious of the fact that baring a miracle, this year might hurt their confidence and hurt their development if they are all given too much too soon.
