If Matthews hits the open market he gets more than that. Doubt he wants anything to do with a team that has the track record of Vegas.

13.5-15m if he signs in Toronto this coming offseason in my opinion. I doubt they keep him if he won't sign long term. Sign and trade at that point.

Yep, I just think its gonna be tamer than people think. I think more 13-14mill range. Now if he signs below 13mill than thats a steal and a half. As lets say he signs 12.8mill x 8 years thats only a 1.2mill increase from where hes at and if the cap goes up to 93mill Toronto will be able to still have room to burn. And then when JT's done add another 11mill the following season. But hey if he signs 15mill x 8 years here I still got no issues as he should easily live up to that deal for years to come

Matthews wanted Mcdavid ch% on his last deal (if he signed 8yrs). Think he will look for at least that. That puts him at 8 x 14m.

That's a pretty sad group of forwards. Finding a team with cap and is suitable to Matthews will be an issue.
