Looking at the opening night roster for my 4 favorite teams (1 from each division).
Robo gets a bridge deal that matches around EP40... this is fairly disappointing, but I think if he was going to get an 8 year deal it'd be done already. Minor details for the most part. The bridge gets him to Jamie Benn expiring (and hopefully the league wide cap raise), which is really important for all parties involved, and slightly less AAV than an 8 year deal also leaves some money around for Hintz next year. Hopefully Otter also taking a bridge helps him make this decision.
Lineup wise, I think it'll be really interesting what DeBoer does. I went for a better lineup balance all around here. Fact is, if Benn is on the 2nd line, the 3rd line is pretty abysmal... there's just no good center option (I'm at least not that sure how Peterson is at the dot). I think this is the best and most balanced forward lines you can come up with on the current squad, though I can easily see Benn going to the 2nd line if necessary. Hopefully a center can be acquired at some point if DAL contends.
As a main NYR fan, the addition of Nils is really big for DAL. He's going to be a really good player. I think he should definitely start the year on the NHL squad, and will play bottom 4 minutes and be on the 2nd PP. Acquiring him also allows for a full RHD squad on the RD position, moving Miro over to LD. This is at least an option... if it doesn't work out, then he plays with Suter/Lindell again. But again, I was going for balance here.
TDL wishlist: a 3rd line center, or just bolstering the 3rd line in general.
