Détails additionnels:
Assuming Myers had a season like last year and assuming that RD are still very difficult to acquire I don't think it costs to move him. Apparently there were multiple teams that reach out to the Canucks this offseason to see if he was available. He is also owed only 1M in base salary next season after signing bonus kicks in.

Colorado looses this trade pretty badly. Pending UFA's don't have that kind of trade value

Yeah Vancouver wouldn't have the kind of leverage with Horvat to get a return like this. Two under-23 impact players under team control for 5 years each (and in Girard's case already locked in at a good caphit) is way too much from Colorado.

I also doubt they'd do this even if Horvat was signed long-term.

Of course the Avs wouldn’t do this. Idk who Canucks fans think they r fooling by defending this Bs trade.

The old crazy "extension" tallk to try to make a viable trade. Avs don't have the cap or desire to take on more cap in 23/24 with new McKinnon contract.
Myers still has 6m cap hit, which can't be wished away by Canucks fans. Similar cap would have to come to Canucks to make any trade possible.

I’m sorry what? I’m a ****ing nobody. That’s why I post on this ****ing website. But IK that I wouldn’t trade Alex Newhook who is on his ELC for Bo Horvat one for one. That’s all that matters.

The fact that you don’t like me doesn’t matter to me. The fact that you've formed this opinion of me thinking I know more than anyone else is kind of sad. If I knew more than everyone else I wouldn’t be here lol. The only thing IK is that nine times out of ten your team is better off keeping its young talent. Trading young guys for veteran players doesn’t usually work. Isles gave up the Grieg, Stillman, Behrens and Hirovanen picks during their past two ECF runs. Look at them now. It didn’t work.

It worked with trading for Arturri Lehkonen, Josh Manson, and Darcy Kuemper.

I also think a number of other users would be able to attest to the fact that you have a habit of coming up with outlandish takes quite often and for no good reason, highly suggesting that you don't watch other team's closely enough

Hmm thought this trade would be closer. It was based off the trade you had posted a few days earlier that had Hoglander and Horvat extended for Newhook a 1st and a 3rd, then there was a separate trade of Girard for futures. I figure take out the 1st and 3rd and replace those future’s with Girard might make it work. Girard is worth more than a 1st and 3rd, but I didn’t think it was that far off your trade proposal.

Don't forget Hoglander is there, and don't expect to be able to get Bo for pennies on the dollar just because he's a rental

Lmao — my outlandish takes. You mean that OEL isn’t a good player and that he’s gotten bailed out by his goaltending? That’s not exactly controversial bud.

Also I usually base my opinions on two things. First off if you aren’t getting younger than you aren’t getting better. Secondly, no one wants your multi year contracts. Not that complicated imo.

Yeah, OEL not being a good player and having been bailed out by goaltending is just flat out wrong. No, he isn't an ELITE player anymore, but he's still a GOOD player. Secondly, age related decline doesn't occur at the same rate for every player. That's all I need to hear to know just how out to lunch you are

Of course age related decline doesn’t impact everyone the same way. But I’m not the type of guy who wants to take that risk, and a lot of fans feel the same.

Also I’ve looked at OEL and Myers numbers Vs elite competition. A Vancouver blog using PuckIQ went over this months ago. Not saying it’s a perfect source, but I don’t have any desire to comb through the endless sea of public analytics platforms rn lol.

Dude I’m not writing an essay and a works cited page to prove my point. OEL is incredibly overpaid at this point. Maybe he would be good if he cost Zadarov money and had similar term, but that’s a completely different scenario.
