Pettersson ain't no god or savior there kool aid man. You can give him all the excuses you want, he's not a 100 Point Player and certainly wasn't a 1.00PPG Player last season either. Again, JT Miller & Quinn Hughes are more important to this team than Pettersson is now. Other than JT Miller, Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, Garland, Pearson and the newly acquired Mikheyev, none of your other guys have proven to be quality Top-9 Forwards who can put up more than 0.50PPG+. They're currently no better than the players in my proposal at this point

NJD's Biggest need is a Star 1LW imo. They pursued Gaudreau via Free Agency and wanted to Trade for Tkachuk but were unsuccessful

Pettersson plays both C & LW, so could be a good solution for the Devils, if their GM Allvin is more reasonable than Canucks Fans that is. I've already conceded swapping out Thompson for one of Mercer or Holtz, but now they want all 3 of NJD's Very Best Prospects (Picked #2, # & #7 Overall), which doesn't seem realistic or fair to me at all

Brock Faber is a very good prospect…probably the best college prospect traded since Fox.

NJD biggest need - by far - is dependable goaltending. I think they will score plenty with the personnel they have in-house. Adding a winger may accelerate that, but not as much of a need as goaltending.
