If my arguments were thoughtless and ill-conceived, I wouldn't be getting those likes now would I

Bahahaha dude. I can’t. Please stop with the likes thing. I don’t even want to discuss anything with you now just because i feel so badly for you when you do this.

I wasn't even being petty, I was using logic to support my claims and refute your silly arguments

I mean, I get that different calibers of players have different expectations for what their talent ceiling is and what a reasonable baseline performance level is, but once that is established, their is no subjectivity in the evaluation of a certain player's performance

When is that ever established? Who establishes it? How is it established? If it were truly established, every contract would be spot on. Every trade would be even. Every season would be predictable. This league would suck.

If you can't seperate a player's playing ability from the money they make relative to their projected market value, that's your problem, not mine

My, “silly,” arguments were:
1. Something that is by very definition subjective opinion is subjective opinion.
2. Caring about likes on here is pathetic.
3. Thinking that getting, “likes,” is somehow verification of being correct is equally as pathetic.

You deployed zero logic.

Did you really not get my point?
Let’s walk through this very slowly -
If how good a player is is objective fact, and not subjective opinion, why are bad contracts signed? Why isn’t every contract spot on? They’re derived from player ability, no?
Why are bad trades made? Everyone knows how good players are, right?

Getting "likes" is verification of being correct however, so you're wrong

I don't understand your first two points

If you can't evaluate good and bad transactions in the NHL, again, your problem, not mine

But why do they exist if evaluating players is objective? Why are there any bad transactions?

Are you really not getting this or are you trolling?

Giving likes to a user who is using their platform for the soul purpose of trolling is grounds to get yourself charged with infractions you know. You make yourself just as guilty as Jared

Objectivity isn't something that automatically registers in the brain you know, sometimes you've got to do a little bit of digging and analyzing to be able to understand it

You’re definitely the guy that thinks movies and music are objectively good, don’t you?

The new Star Wars movies must have been great because so many people went to see them, right?

Evaluating movies and music is very different from evaluating athletic performance. That is a prime apples to oranges comparison

You and your semantics

Why?

Because when it comes to athletic performance, good form produces results, and poor form doesn't. When it comes to movies, box office success doesn't equate to critical acclaim. A movie can be received with lukewarm reviews and still be very profitable (e.g. Venom), or it can do poorly at the box office and lose the studio money while being received very well critically. Critical acclaim and financial success are not directly proportional to one another when it comes artistry, where as in athletics, performance and numerical results do go hand in hand, especially at the higher levels. I hope that paints a clearer picture

Or perhaps reasonable people can disagree on the value a movie brings, and the value a hockey player brings. Almost like it’s subjective

Based on what you’ve showed in this discussion, you’re either the dumbest human being I’ve ever encountered…or you’ll just lie to yourself at the drop of a hat. Either way, i see no value in continuing to discuss anything with you.

And you clearly have nothing better to do than play semantics just so you can get into arguments with others for no good reason. Now you're resorting to insults because you can't handle being proven wrong in front of others

Thanks so much for your understanding man. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Often times I feel very alone sometimes when trying to stand up to an inaccurate or far-fetched take, it means the world to have someone reach out after feeling like I've been beaten down like a tent peg, but hey, I guess that's what Lawyers, and PLAYER AGENTS for that matter do for a living.
