Islanders Trade

Créé par: TMLBRIAN
Équipe: 2022-23 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 17 sept. 2022
Publié: 17 sept. 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Leafs get RD upgrade who has no term (they would try to extend him). LD Prospect. 2nd rounder. Cap Space.

Isles get a young Left D with a lot of potential and with control, top 9 forward upgrade with no term.

Isles do have the cap to make this work as well.

Sandin is clearly the best piece in this trade long term. Mayfield would be a great piece in the short term for the Leafs.

Pelech
Romanov
Sandin

On the Left for many many years with:

Puloch
Dobson

On the right for years.

Would look good from their stand point.

What does a proper Mayfield extension look like? 3.5m x 4 years?

(p.s I love Sandin and want him as a life long Leaf. I hope they can figure their stuff out soon!)

Thoughts?

Isles will say no. Kerfoot at this point gets a 4th at the most, and Isles rather have mayfield, Bolduc and a 2nd then. Sandin.

Sandin will likely provide 5x as much value than 1 year of mayfield , Bolduc and whoever that 2nd rd pick becomes

You just seem really down on everything this year. Sandin is destined to be a 3 LD with his slow skating, you could get him for a 2nd right now but you want to overpay?

Sandin is not a slow skater and he has excellent 4 way mobility. Mayfield is a great 3rd pair D, Bolduc likely never makes the NHL. I'll take a young 2nd pair D who can reach his top pair ceiling for a 30 YO defenseman with 1 year left, C prospect and a 2nd.

In every ACGM and argument about Sandin, it is about his skating. He is smooth but not fast:

Every scouting report is the same thing, Sandin is smooth but slow.

Bolduc is at a minimum a 5, and most likely a 4th d man.

The Isles are giving up the 2nd not acquiring it in this trade.

Where is there a C prospect?

Umm... do. I really need to point out that you are looking at pre draft reports?

I still wouldn't call him fast but he isn't slow either. He's a strong skater.

There is no one who would call sandin slow after watching him. He obviously worked with the leafs skating coaches and now he has average speed, elite 4 way mobility.

The odds of Bolduc making the NHL are low, let alone being a #4 D. He just doesn’t have the hockey sense. He’s big and he’s a good north-south skater but his 4 way mobility isn’t great. He’s had a lot of trouble evading pressure in the AHL. If he makes the NHL it will be a #6 D.

Sandin is a good skater imo. I’ve seen enough of him at this point to know that.

Bolduc was great two years ago, but last year he was coming off a wrist injury which can really **** with your production. Your inability to recognize that injuries impact guys performance is weird af. At the end of the day, Bolduc is young enough to recover from what happened. I don’t think he’s better than Sandin, but I’m not trading Mayfield, Bolduc and a second for Sandin. That makes no sense given the fact Mayfield should have high value at the TDL if they r gonna move him.

I hate how the isles are constructed, that's much different than hating the isles. I root for them to fail unless they make an active attempt to get younger and more skilled. Nothing wrong with that, ive spent a ton of money on the team over the years. I shouldn't have to hear the team calling themselves contenders while trotting out Josh Bailey and Kyle palmieri in the top 6

The best thing about your second comment is that I know 10x more about hockey than you and you're basically saying the way Tampa Bay and Colorado run their teams are wrong, which is hilarious.

No said the way TBL and Colorado is run is correct Lmao. I said that the isles aren’t as bad as you said. The fact that you are criticizing Palmieri rn, one of two wingers with an expected goals rate over 50% with Barzal, shows me how ignorant you are. Lumping him in with Bailey is embarrassing. What a joke.

You don’t know anything about hockey, and you aren’t great at reading bar graphs either. You’ve never had an original thought in ur life. Then again aren’t you the same guy who told me that you played college hockey when you played ACHA CLUB HOCKEY??? Lmao.

lmao the jokes write themselves. why are you bringing up analytics now? You can't think for yourself? Palmieri is a good 3rd line winger being paid like a top 6 winger, his 2 goals through 30 games last year was embarrassing. Producing when the pressure is off is not the same.

The worst thing people can do with analytics is use on ice numbers without context , like you are. It does not isolate a players impact, it rarely is a good representation for how good a player is. If Lee and Barzal are on a 2 on 1 while palmieri is still in the defensive zone not even in the play, expected goals % still gets added to palmieri as if he did something. Go read a book or something, damn lol

Learn how to spell man, its embarrassing. I never said I played college hockey, it's very sad you're making things up right now. You must think Jon Cooper and Julien Bribois shouldn't be running NHL teams because they've never played competitive hockey
