Islanders Trade

Créé par: TMLBRIAN
Équipe: 2022-23 Maple Leafs de Toronto

Description
Leafs get RD upgrade who has no term (they would try to extend him). LD Prospect. 2nd rounder. Cap Space.

Isles get a young Left D with a lot of potential and with control, top 9 forward upgrade with no term.

Isles do have the cap to make this work as well.

Sandin is clearly the best piece in this trade long term. Mayfield would be a great piece in the short term for the Leafs.

Pelech
Romanov
Sandin

On the Left for many many years with:

Puloch
Dobson

On the right for years.

Would look good from their stand point.

What does a proper Mayfield extension look like? 3.5m x 4 years?

(p.s I love Sandin and want him as a life long Leaf. I hope they can figure their stuff out soon!)

Thoughts?

lmao the jokes write themselves. why are you bringing up analytics now? You can't think for yourself? Palmieri is a good 3rd line winger being paid like a top 6 winger, his 2 goals through 30 games last year was embarrassing. Producing when the pressure is off is not the same.

The worst thing people can do with analytics is use on ice numbers without context , like you are. It does not isolate a players impact, it rarely is a good representation for how good a player is. If Lee and Barzal are on a 2 on 1 while palmieri is still in the defensive zone not even in the play, expected goals % still gets added to palmieri as if he did something. Go read a book or something, damn lol

Just pointing out that ur precious bar graphs don’t agree with you. If you want to talk about Palmieri’s performance thru thirty games you should remember that his wife was pregnant. Life happens.

You like to complain about Bailey who had Covid, Pageau who had wrist surgery, and Palmieri who had a kid. All of this impacted the start of the year. Has nothing to do with the “pressure being off” since they had just made the ECF a few short months before the season started. You are a clown.

Raw on ice Expected goals % are not in any model/graph/chart. If you're going to call someone out for not understanding something, you better understand it yourself, too late for that though. You've proven that you have no idea what you're talking about. You're either too dumb or too stubborn. Don't know what's worse lol

LMAO not you bringing up his wife's pregnancy as an excuse. Players have kids all the time, its not an excuse to be completely useless in the first 30 games of a season where the team needs you to produce in order to make the playoffs.

Every playoff team deals with the same injuries/life problems. The only difference is most of their 5 mill dollar players are true pro's who are still able to produce through adversity.

I never said they used the raw data tho…. But since you don’t think IK how evolving hockey’s model works I’d like to remind you that anyone with an athletic subscription can read about it.

Evolving-Hockey’s GAR model breaks out individual contributions into distinct categories — six for skaters and four for goalies — and the final GAR number is a combination of all of them. Luckily, they’re pretty intuitive for even casual hockey fans.

Even-strength offense (not applicable for goalies)
Even-strength defense
Power-play offense (not applicable for goalies)
Short-handed defense
Penalties taken
Penalties drawn

You seem to think I approve of their roster construction and I don’t. You seem to think I just want to make excuses for players and that’s not it either. This team started the year with a 13 game road trip and a Covid outbreak. They replaced Nick Leddy with Zdeno Chara, and failed to replace Jordan Eberle. Nobody is denying any of that. They deserved to miss the playoffs. Hopefully adding Romanov and Salo to the blue line, and having Lambert behind the bench means they can get more out of this underwhelming group of forwards.

Reading about it and understanding it are two different things. You don't understand how it works or what the analytics are trying to explain.

You claim I don’t understand analytics. I’m sure that makes it easier for you to justify your position that you are always right. What a joke.
