The whole ACGM is just all over the place. We all know holtby is out for the year, most likely done. Don’t see why the sabres make that trade, but I’m more high on Comrie and UPL then most people. And he throws 2 years at Boyle.

Comrie could have a good year… but his best year at 27 was last year with a 19 game sample size as your starter is dicey.
anderson is 41 and good for 10-20 games max at this point
and UPL might be the future but he is terribly young and only has 15 NHL games! far from a lock to be successful.
Varlamov is a solid vet 7 years younger than Anderson and
would come in with really solid career numbers

yes Comrie and UPL are younger with potential to play better now and in the future, but if this was a playoff team 31 out of 32 GM in the leauge would jump at swapping out what you have for Varylomov.

saying that I fully agree that with this season likely being an improvement over last, your still a ways from playoff or cup contender so I would and most every GM would stick with the guys you have rather than a rental who more likely than not won’t be around next year.

now in FA if he wanted to come and mentor UPL i would jump on signing him in FA to be a 1A that will hand off the reigns at some point to UPL when he is ready!
