See, if Nichushkin weren't in the mix, I would be fine with that. However, I don't want what happened to Skinner to happen to Nichushkin (less minutes, less productivity, and he becomes a cap liability). Obviously if Chicago were giving him away for free, I'd take it, but with the high cost combined with pushing Nichushkin down, I don't think it's worth it to acquire him. Assets would be much better spent on a 2C, ESPECIALLY if they're more than a rental.
You do not need to worry about that. Skinner's issue wasn't reduced minutes or PP time. It was that other teams caught on to Eichel gaining the zone on his off wing, posting up and dishing to Skinner flying through the slot and then Buff moving away from those "set plays" for Skinner when Eichel was out.
If Kane or any high end winger comes in, Lehk will drop down to 3rd line and Nuch would stay up. We would see tons of Blendnaring the lines tho. What makes Nuch such a gem and not a risk to be like Skinner is that he could have a bad year for points but would still provide so much more to the play/game than Skinner does.
Also for 1 run/16-24 games, pushing a high end winger down is a benefit not a problem. Lehk-Meyers-JTC would be fun.
I don't know if it would be worth it or not until we've seen what we have. If this crew can't repeat, then ya I think Olausson and a 1st would be worth it.
