If I remember correctly, teams can only move a max of 10 spots, so the Capitals continuing to lose would help their chances (obviously). If the Mock Draft section is accurate, the Caps have the 11th best odds at 3.1%.

caps are currently 11th last so a 3% chance at bedard and 3.5% at Fantilli. The only team they can reasonably "pass" is Detroit, which would boost their odds to 3.5 and 3.8%. If they go any higher they can't win the 1st overall pick, most spots you can jump is 10

I think Schmaltz is the perfect target -- great underlyings, actually puts up points, young enough, I think definitely will be available with how much money he's owed and how cheap AZ is

Fell bad for Keller. And question about ltir. Are they paying all of those guys with money they don’t have?

Not sure for actual LTIR (like Carlson, Brown, etc.) but for sure LTIRetired players like Weber get 100% of their contract paid by insurance. Pretty embarrassing how little money they're actually putting into the team, feel bad for guys like Keller as well.
