Kaut doesn't get poj a 4th doesn't get 2.6 in retention and that doesn't get Kane

Kaut is nhl ready. Bednar is his issue. He is a good skater(even on the Avs), very smart and defensively reliable, he just will look like he isn't skating 110% and Beds likes his busy bodies. I don't know enough about POJ, but Kaut should be in most nhl bottom 6's.
I doubt Kane gets more than that. Mainly becaue Zito and Dubas don't have much in the way of picks or prospects to outbid that.

Kane's base salary is only $2.9m this year, so at the deadline only $580k left to pay in real cash. 50% retention would cost Chicago $290k, and a 3rd team $145k. A 4th for $145k in cash and some cap space seems more than fair, especially as there will be multiple teams interested in such deals for a free pick.

As a pens fan, Kaut could get POJ, it really matters how POJ plays this year. He's been unbelievable at times and has played big minutes besides Letang, other times he has struggled and fallen out of our rotation. Pens have a pretty deep blue lines in terms on guys who should be playing regular minutes in the NHL (Letang, Dumo, Petry, Pett, Rutta, Smith, Fried, and Ruhwedel) so if POJ can work himself in the lineup I'd say Pens don't do this deal however, if he cant and is a regular healthy scratch, then pens probably do this deal (at the deadline).

For Kane I don't think thats enough based on what the rangers will probably be offering at the deadline to get 88 and the breadman back together

Kaut has NHL talent but probably needs to go to another team to play as Bednar doesn't seem to like him and the Avs roster is full. Burke and co. in Pittsburgh would probably like him.

Out bid what? a late first and mid tier prospect? lol literally like 90% of teams have a decent prospect and a 2023 first with more value then colorados....

The return on Kane will be based on his NMC. He will choose his destination, so it won't be a bidding war. He could very well choose NYR instead of Colorado though.

Ehh you don't get to just retain base salary. They'd be retaining on the cap hit.

Yeah obviously. At the TDL caphits are far easier to retain on and it's.not difficult to find teams willing to retain that amount.
