I'll go further. Having college LWer Knies at centre is totally impractical. Gee to even think Knies is NHL ready even if was signed is a big stretch.

Not a chance Jets agree to that. Either Dubas is holding out expecting an unrealistic return on Kerfoot or GMs are holding out hoping he panics, it’s obvious the market is set and the Leafs will get a minimal return, if any.
I’d like Kerfoot on the Jets. I think he could help out our middle 6, but I definitely don’t want Chevy to give up a guy we just drafted who has looked really good in preseason, playing big minutes in all situations thus far.
If Kerfoot was going to be traded for what most Leafs fans expect (b prospect, 2nd/3rd rounder etc) it would have happened by now.

If keafs trade him pre draft they get a 2nd easily. Now they would be lucky to get a 4th. Dubas knows that much. I don't think he ever planned in trading him.

I agree. I think they hold out trading him for 2 reason, he’s still producing and the return doesn’t justify losing that production. More likely they waive Holl or whatnot to become compliant

I don't think there was ever even a passing thought to trade him. Kerfoot is a whipping boy for Toronto fans. For absolutely no reason.
