Might work, NYR might want a 3rd or 4th RD Pick, but it's probably close

Habs should do it
I know Pitlick worked out pretty good, but you got to give to receive
Anyway MTL have too many forwards, this would make sense for both teams

Rangers want a young top 9 center prospect. This ain’t it.

I wouldn't discount Rem Pitlick, he out-performed Filip Chytil last season and the Flames Adam Ruzicka likely would too

Chytil was great in the playoffs after a very average regular season. The other issue is that Pitlick literally wasn’t qualified. Why would they trade a valuable asset for that guy?

You don't realize how NHL RFA contracts work do you?! Rem was not qualified because if we had given him a QO he would have been arbitration eligible. By not qualifying him we were able to negotiate from a position of strength.

Ofc IK that. But the rangers could’ve swept in and signed him, but they didn’t. The idea you are getting a former first round pick who is under control for Rem Pitlick is beyond ridiculous.

I was just commenting on why he wasn't qualified not the value cause obviously like you said Rem doesn't have that kind of value unless we are attaching a 2nd or 3rd round pick as well.

Pitlcik said he wasn’t signing with any other team, he was just waiting on Hughes to make room for him (Petry trade)

Either way the trade doesn’t work for NYR

Yes it does, they get a young C/LW making 1.1M for another year
They get better this year and they have a good 3rd liner for 1.1M

It’s not remotely fair to the rangers. Look I’m sorry man, but there is no world where this deal works from NYR’s perspective. Pretending otherwise is ridiculous tbh.

In your opinion and your opinion looks like saying Lehkonen is better than McDavid and pretending otherwise is ridiculous. That’s how your opinion looks like

That’s terrible grammar lol. All I said is Lundkvist is more valuable than a guy who was a UFA and was placed on waivers multiple times last year. Whatever man.

he went on waivers twice, but when he finally found a home, he thrived. 37 pts in 60-something games iirc. sure he wont replicate that but hes gonna be an effective bottom six guy. getting a pick on top of that for a guy who wants out isnt bad at all considering his value would be at an all time low

He was a former first round pick who had very high value just a year ago. You are underestimating his “all time low” by a laughable degree lol.

Good thing Habs stayed away!! 1st rounder in 2023 lmao for a prospect that asked out and is that small with question marks! Talk about buying high when Nill should have been buying low!
