A friend of mine in Calgary, Just mentioned that Friedman said that the Flames and MacKenzie Weegar are close to a 8 year extension.

Weegar to 2LD, Tanev to 2 RD and Zadorov bottom pairing with Kylington

That's way too much for Sens to give in a trade for one year rental, and still might finish out of the playoffs. Just worry about signing Sub, DeBrincat next season.

I can completely understand this POV as they definitely cant afford both Weegar and Zub next year but it's also a bad deal for the Flames

Don't worry, Flames Decline. We've already had Hamonic, so not interested in 2nds on him and not interested in Brannstrom whatsoever, we'd use Valimaki over him too

D-men are expendable in Calgary.. proceeds to fill the d core with worse D than they already have. 10 D men on 1 way deals makes Valimaki, Gilbert, Meloche, Mackey, Kylington expendable.. not Mackenzie Weegar! Hahahah

Can't wait till Weegar gets extended for $6-6.5milyr x 7-8 years ($50mil/8yrs = $6.25mil/yr OR $45mil/7yrs = $6.43mil/yr) to end this wishful thinking by OTT Fans

Looks like they need more help at LD until Jake Sanderson is ready. I understand Chychrun is the target, but the Flames are willing to discuss:

Juuso Valimaki for Egor Sokolov OR Mark Kastelic + Austin Watson
Oliver Kylington for Shane Pinto OR Ridly Greig OR maybe Zach Ostapchuk + Jorian Donovan
Noah Hanifin for Drake Batherson OR both Pinto & Greig

Pinto isn’t getting trading for a lefty d man and neither is Grieg. Sanderson is NHL ready.

Maybe, but I highly doubt it. Sanderson is nothing more than a highly touted Prospect right now, he hasn't played or proven anything in Professional Hockey yet, unless you count 1 Olympic Game

He would’ve played last year if not for injury, but either way I trust Sanderson to step in and play top four minutes next year in Ottawa.

Agreed on Trading Kylington. Trade Valimaki too!

Any of Zadorov, Mackey, or even Valimaki would do well with Tanev on their Right Side. Makes no sense to break up Hanifin-Andersson.
