Only Lundkvist or Kravtsov are worth more than that full CGY package

That's simply not true. Both Lundkvist & Kravtsov have asked to be Traded.

Ruzicka > Kravtsov (Ruzicka's a Big Centre who has proven he can Score + be Defensively Responsible, something NYR wants, whereas Kravtsov has not performed well in North America = Gamble)
Lundkvist >= Valimaki (Lundkvist may have more value being a RD and Waiver Exempt, but he hasn't done any better in the NHL than Valimaki)
Duehr = Gauthier (Only reason for this swap is Gauthier's Potential Upside and bringing in a French Canadian for Huberdeau)
Nikolayev = Korczak (CGY should acquire Right Shot Centre Depth and Nikolayev could make & help the Rangers sooner)

I like Ruzicka and am worried about giving him up, but because there's no room for him in the Top-9 and we could use more RD Prospect Depth and Physicality in our Bottom-6, I'd do this Trade and take the Gamble on Kravtsov & Gauthier, hoping they can reach their Draft Pedigree under Sutter's tutelage

sharks should decline that, not that the value is off, but Laroque has an extremely high ceiling and looked really good last year both offensively and Defensively, he was OHL runner up for defenseman of the year after all. has plus size speed shot and can QB the pp.
to me he has top line ceiling and top 4 expectation as a RD and we need that more in 2-3 years than we need a top LD now.
besides sharks are 3-4 impact players from a playoff expectation and this won’t make us any better and frankly I don’t see the reason Calgary does this either.

Anyway I won't do any drama here, I understand you love the upside of Ruzicka, but no NHL team have room in their top 9 for a gamble like him
We got guys like Sonny Milano and Tyler Motte who are still unsigned and much more proven than Ruzicka, who might just end up waived. A lot of teams have players in the same situation, good upside but no room for them and they arent waivers exempt. We'll see how it turn out for him

Yes, Valimaki & Ruzicka are no longer waivers exempt, hence why I'm looking to move them for other Players/Depth pieces we need or could use, but if Ruzicka isn't traded, we'll keep him on the Roster I'm sure, might even try him at RW. 10 Points and +8 in 28 Games primarily playing with Lucic & Lewis or Ritchie with only 10:13A ATOI is extremely impressive and would be hard to beat. Just wish he was more Physical

I appreciate your comment on Prospects. I see Teams like BUF, ARI, NJD & OTT load up on them but if you don't have enough room to play them, it's hard to develop them all properly and lots of talent gets over looked and lost along the way. We Drafted Ruzicka later, but he's been successful everywhere he's played in North America. Again swapping him for Kravtsov is a Gamble, but if we got Lundkvist for Valimaki at the same time, it'd be worth the it imo

CGY's loaded at LD and could use a Potential Future Backlund Replacement in Kunin. I like his Size, Physicality, the fact he can play Centre and that he's a Right Shot. Carson Soucy would be a much better fit in CGY, otherwise we have cheaper Mackey, Valimaki & Gilbert as replacement options for Kylington as well


No Problem, Kylington >= Kunin, so just looking for SJS to add a Sweetener and I like local products. Maybe a Later Pick + Eli Barnett OR Alex Young instead!?

yea i would Love Kylington next to Karlsson and push Ferraro to the 2nd pair. Just don't want to give up our best D prospect with the biggest upside.
Kunin, and Merkley or Kunin and a pick would be a nice addition. but then we would have to move a LD as we are overloaded right now as is and then Knyzhov comes back in january futher exasperating the issue.

Nothing we would want, Korczak is a future puzzle piece, GMs will want to see Kravtsov play before acquiring.

Take out Korczak & Nikolayev then OR swap Korczak for Jayden Grubbe instead.

NYR would like a Centre (Ruzicka) and could use a Better LD than Hajek (Valimaki) and Better RW than Gauthier (Duehr), especially since Reaves is getting to be an old man and could stand to have some load management by splitting time with another Young Up & Coming RW

Yeah Laroque was a 4th round pick but he is playing like a 2nd or up, he’s much more than a sweetener at this point. Sharks are also very short on RD prospects so I don’t see them moving one. A later pick would work, I think that would be fair.

Yeah, same goes for Ruzicka, he's proven to be far more valuable than when he was Drafted in the 4th Round
