Roy isn't for sale, he's a shutdown pro who can play both sides and ate top pair minutes when Doughty was out. He's one of our least likely to be moved. Walker might be for sale however.

Difficult to tell that far out, if Bjornfot, Moverare, or Kirsanov could play a similar shutdown role on the left side at the same proficiency as Roy (they aren't there yet though) he can become potentially expendable. That is a big "if" though, but with Spence and Durzi looking on the cusp and Clarke coming we can at least play Roy on the left side if needed if none of those guys pan out. We also might be in on someone like Chychrun who would pair very well with Roy. Lot's of factors that need to play out in the next two years before we talk about Roy's contract.

But in two years if there is no heir apparent for 2nd pair shutdown defenseman look to whatever they give Mikey Anderson (1st pair shutdown defenseman) next season for a litmus test of what Roy will get. Moving of Brock Faber tells us they are more interested in finding that player on the left side to support one of Clarke, Durzi, Spence, or Grans.
