Description
Are 4 way trades even possible? If not, Arizona can retain Pulju’s contract as well and just rework it so they get extra compensated for it

TOR
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse (1 200 000 $ retained)
  2. Choix de 6e ronde en 2023 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
Pulju 1.2 mil retained by 3rd party team, for Toronto’s 4th in 2024 (they send a 7th to Toronto back)

The rumours are that Edmonton is still shopping Pulju. This way they save cap space and get a currently better offensive player. The Leafs get the younger defensive forward who is more of a gamble than Kerfoot but has more long term security, which is why they pay a bit extra to get him
EDM
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
  3. Choix de 4e ronde en 2024 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
1.75 retained by Arizona (SDA is sent to Arizona to pay for Kerfoot’s retention). I chose Arizona because Kerfoot’s retained salary is equal to about like 500k in real money so it’s very nice for them as a team

Overall:
Leafs get: Pulju (1.2 mil retained), EDM 6th
Other team gets: 4th
Arizona gets: SDA, other team 7th
Edmonton gets: Kerfoot (50% retained)

One reason I don't like Kerfoot being traded is that it leaves Leafs really weak at centre, in case of injury to Matthews and Tavares especially. Yeah Kerfoot might have to traded for cap reason. Really I don't see the Oilers liking this trade. Not sure if that gets Sandin signed. Gee he's offer sheeted for 2m and thin the Leafs can't do a thing about it.

So, Arizona uses both it's retention spots for a 4th and SDA. Bill Armstrong would have to be a moron to use both those remaining spots for such a Garbage return!

They use one in this trade. Not sure they have any interest in SDA but the 375k in actual dollars makes the retention attractive to Arizona.

I don't really think so. So many teams are going to be looking for cap space at the TDL. Retention is going to cost a lot more than people on here think.

16 teams make the playoffs. Of the 16 that don't at least 10 will be full blown sellers. Tight caps loosen up.

Nope, it gets cheaper. Deadline cap hits go down. Ltir space piles up and teams moving out players regain cap space to retain.

It happens every season. I'm not too worried about it. If you don't have anything to back up what you're saying I think we are done.

Detroit got a 4 for the TDL portion of less than 250 K in the Savard deal and Detroit ownership isn't cash strapped. Sure Az does a cheaper. return on more expensive retention. Keep on deluding yourself have a great night!

Yes They would. As it stands right now they can't move out more than 1m in cap. Cap in money out at 20 cents on the dollar isn't all bad. Toronto could just as easily take back an an ahl player on a 1 way deal saving them 375k at minimum.... while we're at it lets send another one way deal to Edmonton. Saving them over 1m.

You seem to think the only deal is with Toronto a lot of teams are going to want that retention and that crap of a return is going to get laughed at . , However go ahead delude yourself in thinking everything in the hockey world revolves around Toronto. Again have an awesome night ,and enjoy Fantasy island . The plane boss the plane.

It's not my agm. I'm pretty sure I said I'm not sure if they're interested in SDA. You really need to get a grip. I've never seen someone load their diaper this bad over a small retention deal. Maybe they would like a different prospect. Or a pick. Or maybe Toronto turns to a different team.

Going off this hard over a tiny detail of a pretend trade isn't healthy.

I think he was tilted to begin with. Just so much anger that the leafs would dare offer a prospect for retention. Which to be honest doesn't happen very often. His team won a cup 18m over the cap and he's angry that the world is bending over to help the leafs in an imaginary trade.

18 million over the cap cry of the complete LOSER!!!!! The fact they were able to is Toronto and every team not named the blues fault for not voting for a salary cap when TB proposed one for the playoffs the summer of 15 ,so suck it up and stop crying like a 2 year old.
