    lmao a 3rd for 2 million for 1 year that's hilarious.

Maybe you pressed the 3rd going the wrong way by mistake.

Nope. Leafs need to move someone to sign Sandin, teams aren't lining up to help them, are they?

I hate to break it to you, but historically there's not been a "**** you, Leafs" tax assigned to positive value (on ice) players. The most the Leafs had to pay to dump a player of equivalent cap value was Nick Ritchie, and that was a 2nd and Ritchie for Lyubushkin and Dzingel - and Lyubushkin was fantastic.

Even completely dumping Mrazek wasn't this steep in value.

What are you talking about?! They traded a first round pick. This false equivalence that getting back a middle 2nd eliminates the 1st and makes it less valuable than a 3rd is quite the leap!

They also paid Seth Jarvis to move one year of Patrick Marleau. You're making things up!

Why is Toronto giving up a 3rd to get rid of Holl? If we really couldn't get anything back for him we would either not trade him and trade Kerfoot instead. Or worse case scenario we just place him on waivers which a team can take him for free. Even if a team doesn't claim him we just bury him which would only cost up $875,000 ($1,125,000 buried) which is way better than giving up a 3rd.

Maybe someone will claim him, but no one is taking Kerfoot for free. Not sure if you knew or not but the cap is flat and virtually no one has cap space.

Someone would absolutely take Kerfoot for free. It would be dumb for a rebuilding team not to do it. Arizona would pull something in how fast they would put the wavier claim in. Worst case he's a player you can flip to another team for less than 2 million on the cap for a playoff run at TDL.

Yes. because a late first = amazing player and middle second = garbage. Obviously. You are also correct in that moving 6.25 million of an ancient Patrick Marleau when you need to sign Auston Matthews is the same as moving a 2 million effective RD who’s played a top 4 role and is at worst a 3rd pairing defenceman. How could I miss that.

I apologize for the oversight. A third round pick is entirely justified for moving 875,000 of salary that can’t be buried when sent to the minors.

Bro forgot about that time the yotes claimed Sateri off waivers cause they were annoyed by how many players were claimed by the leafs years prior...

Thats a pretty big F**k you imo

Why wouldn’t he? It sounds like he’ll bridge for seven. Our owner is whining like a three year old in the cereal aisle about giving young kids big contracts. That’s the hold up. Not Dobby

He’s rumored to be good to go on a bridge for 7 million. Dobby to the AHL covers that 😉
