Why not just keep Valimaki as the 7th D?

I'd rather have him be playing, not scratched

Montreal is one of the teams least likely to claim him. We already have a number of LD who can play the right side and we are still looking for a RD.

Treliving should be watching the rest of the leagues LD depth chart like a hawk and make a call as soon as he sees someone hurt in the preseason. Valimaki is a decent asset without a home in Calgary, they can at least try to get something back from a team with a newly created hole.

I hate the flames so much but man that defence corps is one of the best in the league.

Not a fan of the Kadri signing but if they can make the money work and bring in another scorer, watch out.

Like I said, he can play RD, played pretty well a year or 2 ago playing in Finland on RD.

Washington is the team I can see having interest. Alexeyev is injured for a while afaik and Juuso has to be a better option than Irwin and Gus. Plus he is still under team control next year when they loose 90% of their current d-core

Edmundson, Guhle, Harris, Fairbrother, Leskinen and Schueneman all can and have played RD, the point is if we just wanted a player who can play their off side we would move one of our own over there. We are looking for an actual RHD not just a guy who can play that side.

I think a swap of struggling prospects is what you would see. If it's the Caps maybe Protas or Trineyev.

I think it would be a forward prospect that is also not waiver exempt. Leason interests me as someone with potential

That's funny. It's the first person I thought of. Didn't think anyone else shared interest.
