Could have sworn I read the same things here about Chariot and Lekhonen 6 months ago. Even Toffoli.
Heck, we got a 1st rounder just for taking a salary dump.
while Lekhs didn't get us a first pick - he did land us a Barron a first round pick taken two years earlier.

If you haven't noticed yet, you'd be surprised what teams are willing to give up to go "all in"

Monahan is a shadow of his former self and injury prone.

Drouin is a pure-offense winger who has personal problems that affect his ability to play hockey at all.

Dadonov is a pure offense winger with a high caphit.

That's a huge difference from a top 4 Dman with grit (who most would agree was an overpayment by Florida) and a play-driving two-way forward like Lehkonen with elite analytics.

Sure, if Monahan rebounds and has a great year, or Dadonov paces 30+ goals, or Drouin plays at PPG, then yeah maybe you can make a case for a 1st, but realistically that ain't happening. Especially since the 2023 draft is considered the deepest since 2015.

literally no one said that they wouldnt, lots of people rightly said chariot shouldnt but probably would but pretty much everyone was in agreement that Lehkonen and Toffoli would. Just making stuff up to justify the proposal is always fun

Aiming a bit high there brother, I'd love those returns for MTL but highly doubt we pull off 3 fleecings for 1sts... one 1st maybe in the right "retention" deal but just can't see this level of return lol

Monahan was traded to Montreal for Future Considerations because he was a cap liability. What makes you think the Leafs would pay a first and a prospect for that?

So Can Anyone Explain to me why the Leafs would even consider this, You got a 1st for Taking on Monahan so why are the Leafs paying for a man who isn’t even as good as Kampf anymore

Easy no for the Avs. In no way will Drouin get a first from anyone. Nor will Monahan.
