I wanna see Heinola get a legit shot to be a regular NHLer before dealing him away. Frustrating that the jets haven't played him and position older players with less ceiling in front of him

Agreed. Would be a mistake to not give him a real opportunity to play. Although a deal like this does seem reasonable if they need to move him. Not sure what WSH thinks though.

Done

In general I see Kerfoot going to WPG as they could use a guy like him considering their LW options rn besides Connor arent the greatest

Toronto is having cap issues, there's no reason for the Jets to overpay and help them out at the same time. If the 4th on it's own doesn't do it, let them move Kerfoot elsewhere.

I like Heinola's potential. Also like McM's potential. This is a difficult one...

I think Washington declines this simply due to already being stuffed with LD prospects and McMichael has a legit shot for consistent 3C duties this year. In my opinion, Winnipeg should look to trade Dillon somewhere, even if they have to sacrifice some return, to let Heinola/Stanley play full time this year.

Funny, this is basically what caps fans have been screaming into the abyss about McMichael tears of joy

You can keep your bad 13th forward.

Caps would rather have the guy who plays a more valuable position and was actually able to stick in the NHL this year and pass

So maybe this is a good deal for both? THe jets need to shed 1 or 2 dmen to make room for some young guys and they should be adding to their C depth.
Ill be honest, I dont know much about McMichael outside of reading about him, but Heinola had been good every where he's played and deserves a shot in the NHL fulltime

I don't think it would end up working out well for Washington as Heinola would probably get buried in Washington's LD pipeline (through no fault of his own) and McMichael looks to actually be able to get good playing time this year. It's interesting to think about but I can't see the Caps moving on from McMichael at this time. If he's still getting minimal playing time in DC and/or Washington knows that Orlov is leaving, I think they would make this deal mid-season.
