Too much for Addison. He's done nothing and, I'm guessing, will be in the AHL most of this season.

In light of recent signings, Boldy is gonna command quite a bit more.........

After 350 games the only thing that Jost is proven has that he does not have enough offense for a top 9 role nor the type of game needed for 4th line.

Pass.

How so? He won't get much more on a 3 year bridge deal, which will likely be what the Wild have to sign him to. I agree he'd get $7m+ on a 7 or 8 year deal but not on a 3 year deal. Maybe they sign him to a 2 year bridge for slightly less to get him past the Parise/Suter buyouts and then use that money to sign him and Rossi to longer deals (assuming they've earned it).

That may be what MIN wants, but looking at Stutzle, Thompson and even the Suzuki contracts over the last year. If he pulls off a 30/30 season this year, he'll be looking for long term at big money. I guess we'll see what happens with the Robertson situation as well.

I have Boldy at a $4m x 2 bridge deal. His points will take a hit without Fiala. $5m x3 is reasonable but I think it's either a 2 year or 8 year deal for his next contract with nothing in between.

I think he ends up as a non-QO FA after the season.

I agree a 2 year bridge makes the most sense and the team will need whatever cap savings they'll get on a 2 year deal vs a 3 year deal anyhow.

He may have to take a bridge though, because the team isn't likely going to be able to offer him the money an 8 year deal would require. The offer sheet Boogeyman isn't really a threat, so imo it's far more likely Boldy's camp settles on a 2 year deal to get through the teams cap issues to get to where he can sign a big money deal. We'll see how losing Fiala as a linemate impacts his scoring.

Personally, I think he's going to have a better season with more responsibility and PP time.
The issue with bridges now (at least based on current trends) is that young players want long term security and to be paid before they earn it. Bridges used to be "Show Me" contracts, now young kids see them as a slap in the face that their team doesn't take their future potential seriously.

Maybe, but that only really applies for a team that actually has cap space to work with. Ottawa and Buffalo had the cap to gamble their young players will continue developing into stars, Minnesota doesn't. If Minnesota had $20m in cap and was trying to low-ball him that makes sense but if they're working with $10m to sign 6 players, common sense says you're not getting $8m and a 2 year bridge makes the most sense to get him closer to a big payday.

Boldy is gonna get a big payday wherever he plays. MTL didn't have the cap space when they signed Suzuki. DAL is gonna have to pay Robertson without cap space. (though he's one that's earned it compared to the others). Players now a days aren't loyal to a team like they used to be. It's not all for the love of the game, it's a business for them and the club.
Personally, I see the reason for the Parise buyout, but I really thought they should have kept Suter. They'd be in much better shape right now.
