Description

Assuming Backstrom does not return before playoffs (if at all), I believe the two biggest needs for the Caps at TDL will be a bottom pair d-man and possibly one more depth, versatile winger although MoJo fits the mold currently.

Blackwell seems to fit what kind of player GMBM goes after and has played for Lavi in the past. Soucy is a solid depth defensemen who can add size and offense to the backend without completely sacrificing defense (ahem Gustafsson).

I mean I like these moves, but not sure if that'd get you Soucy. Think you will see a need for an upgrade at 2C by the DL. Maybe a Toews <> Eller swap w/ retention and picks going to Chi - Strome slides down to 3C

These are definitely the types of moves I could see them making. Only thing that would change that is if Hagelin is done, it would leave them with almost 7m in space for an upgrade. Could definitely see them going after a slightly bigger name on defense like Sanheim or Severson.

Wouldn't mind the Soucy move if LuJo can't hold the 3LD role, but I'm weary of trading for even more forward depth as AJF, Leason, and Snively are all waiver eligible and I'd have to assume they are sending at least one of them down in this due to the Blackwell move.
